While videos allegedly showing off features of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active have recently been discovered, a new tweet from His Royal Leakness evleaks reveals a press render for the Galaxy S5 variant. The handset appears to be in some sort of a case for the photo (note the corners). The phone is said to be made with a metal frame coated with rubber to help the device survive when you drop it.

There is some question as to the size of the screen, which will either match the 5.1 inch Super AMOLED display on the regular Samsung Galaxy S5, or will come in a tad larger at 5.2 inches. Either way, the resolution on the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active's screen is expected to be 1080 x 1920. The quad-core 2.46GHz Snapdragon 801 processor matches the one on the original unit. The phone comes with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of native storage, and a 16MP snapper on back. Interestingly, the latter is supposed to feature OIS, instead of the Digital Image Stabilization found on the run of the mill Galaxy S5.One change between the original unit and the Galaxy S5 Active has to do with the ability of both phones to live through submersion in water. The Galaxy S5 Active is said to be IP68 certified, which means that it can live through a dunking in up to 5 feet of water for as long as 60 minutes. The IP67 certification on the original model means that it can survive in up to 3.2 feet of water for as long as 30 minutes.
We'd be remiss if we didn't point out that the render shows the device being "used" on the AT&T network. The latest speculation has the device coming to both AT&T and Sprint with other carriers possibly getting involved.
